Skin Therapy with IPL

IPL's multi-wavelength intense pulse light therapy penetrates the outer layers of skin (epidermis) and delivers light energy to the deeper (dermal) layers of skin. It is within the dermis that collagen, the main supporting structure of our skin, resides and is produced. The light energy has the effect of tightening the collagen protein bundles and stimulating fibroblasts to produce more collagen, which have the effect of reducing the appearance of facial line, wrinkles and pore size. Since the light energy penetrates the outer layers of skin, there is none of the peeling and redness associated with traditional laser resurfacing. When treating hyperpigmentation, spider veins or rosacea, the light energy targets the unwanted pigment (melanin or blood vessels) while leaving the skin intact.

Hair Removal with IPL

IPL hair removal therapy is FDA approved for permanent hair reduction. Most facial hair goes through an active growing phase every 3-6 weeks; most non-facial hair every 8-10 weeks. This is the only phase in which hair responds to treatment. Most patients will see a remarkable reduction in both the density and rate of growth within 2-3 weeks after the first treatment. With subsequent treatments, permanent hair reduction is generally achieved.

FAQ

DeaLight

DeaLight Photoepilation

Q. How does DeaLight remove hair?
A. Highly controlled flashes of light are selectively absorbed by pigmentin the hair follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair which damages or disables the follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Q. How can I determine if this treatment is right for me?
A. Even though DeaLight Hair Removal technology is capable of treating most hair colours and skin types, at consultation your therapist will evaluate if you are a good candidate for the treatment.

Q. What does the treatment feel like?
A. Each pulse of light feels warm with a slight sting or pinch similar to the snap of a rubber band. No local anaesthetic is required and most clients find the treatment comfortable due to cooling from the handpiece.

Q. What happens during a treatment?
A. Hair should be shaved to 1mm in length prior to the treatment. You will be asked to wear dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. Next your skin will be cleansed with Spray Mist antiseptic skin cleanser. The DeaLight hand piece is then applied to your skin and pulses of light are flashed in the area that is being treated. The hair in the treated area falls out over the next week or two.

Q. Are there any possible side effects?
A. Side effects are rare.  You may experience some slight reddening or local swelling at the treated area, when will go down within hours.  On rare occasions, some blistering or bruising may occur, with in will resolves quickly.  Avoiding sun exposure before and after each treatment will minimise the risk of skin becoming lighter or darker following IPL.  Following the treatment, you can generally return to work and resume all regular activities immediately.

Q. What kind of results should I expect?
A. DeaLight Hair Removal Technology has been proved to create permanent hair reduction after each treatment in most skin types. The number of treatments required depends on individuals, but on average you should expect to be treated at least 8 to 12 times.

DeaLight Photofacial:

Q. What is DeaLight Photofacial?
A Photofacial is a new and unique anti-ageing procedure. Using a series of full face Intense Pulsed Light treatments, redness of the skin and flushing of the face, neck and chest can be successfully treated. In addition, it treats acne, acne scarring, open pores, fine wrinkles, irregular pigmentation and broken capillaries.

Q. How can I determine if this treatment is right for me?
A. A skin analysis suitability to check the suitability of the treatment and a full explanation of the procedure will be given.

Q. How many treatments are needed?
A. The Photofacial consists of a course of 6 one hour treatments at monthly intervals.

Q. What is the treatment like?
A. Intense Pulsed Light is flashed along the skin of the face, and in some instances, neck and chest. Clients describe the sensation of warming.

Q. When will I be able to return to my normal activities?
A. Clients generally experience no down time. Occasionally if there is redness or swelling, it may be necessary to apply an ice pack on the treated area for about 20 minutes after the treatment.

Hands: Brown spots on the hands can be treated successfully with DeaLight Intense Pulsed Light. The DeaLight hand piece is passed along the surface of the skin on the hands. Pigment is shattered at the cell level and then flakes off within a week.

DeaLight Photovascular:

Q. Can DeaLight Photovascular Technology treat thread veins?
A. Small thread veins can be treated with IPL.

Q. How can I determine if this treatment would be right for me?
A. Your therapist is trained to advise you.

Q. What is the treatment like?
A.
The Photovascular Technology consists of a comprehensive primary treatment with a follow-up visit in four weeks to check progress and determine if a further treatment is necessary. The Photovascular treatment feels like a short, non-enduring sting resembling the snap of a rubber band.

Q. When will I be able to return to my normal activities?
A.
Patients experience no down time.  However we encourage patients to relax and refrain from taking a hot bath or shower within the first 24 hours.  Aerobic exercise can be resumed a few days later. You can return to work immediately.

Q. What kind of results can be expected?
A.
It is essential to have realistic expectations. The Photovascular technology heats and occludes treated vessels. The body then absorbs the vessels in much the same way it does a bruise. Patients with small spider veins find that most of them will clear within four to eight weeks.

SonoLight

Q. Why is the treatment considered so effective?
A. A number of studies throughout the world, published in consumer and medical periodicals, have proven the benefits of skin micro peeling combined with soft infrared laser and ultrasound. Therapists worldwide now prefer SonoLight over surgical laser and acid peels.

Q. Is the treatment painful?
A. Treatment with SonoLight is considered a comfortable and pleasant procedure.

Q. Are there any side effects?
A. Treatments on thousands of clients of different race and colour show no adverse skin reaction. This is also due to the desensitising formulations applied to the skin.

Q. What is the skin’s appearance immediately after the treatment and what after care is required?
A. Generally the skin looks amazing, but occasionally the treatment results in a mild redness which may last a few hours. After treatment, slight skin sensitivity may show. To protect and soothe the skin, F & F Cosmeceuticals formulation may be advised as a home care regime.

Q. What clinical investigations have been carried out and what are the results?

A. Clinical investigations started in 1987 in Italy demonstrate that microdermabrasion using aluminium oxide crystals is safe, effective and easy to use. The stream of crystals onto the skin is always constant which means that the treatment is progressive, controllable and consistent in its results. Infrared soft laser and ultrasound have been widely used with great clinical success.

Q. What are the advantages of SonoLight over other types of skin peeling procedures?

A. Skin peeling with acids can be toxic and can cause permanent scarring. Peeling using diamond points or surgical laser are highly aggressive for the skin and requires total anaesthesia. SonoLight is currently the only system able to guarantee progressive results without any side effects or particularly unpleasant sensation.

Q. What is the procedure time according to different areas?

A. The SonoLight increases microdermabrasion speed: approximately 10-12 minutes is needed to treat a full face. This is due to the dual pump technical feature. A complete three stage facial treatment which includes micro peeling, regenerating light beam and ultrasound waves combined with vacuum and active products applied onto the skin takes approximately 1 hour.

Q. How many treatments are required for substantial results?

A. Age and skin condition will determine the number of treatments required to achieve the maximum effect. For most common skin conditions, a minimum of 6 treatments is usually required. The results are evident from both the skin texture and its appearance after the very first session.

Q. Is SonoLight effective on any skin type?
A. SonoLight makes a lasting difference on any skin type of any age as the therapist can adjust the treatment to the individual skin.

Q. What are SonoLight safety features?
A. SonoLight is a CE marked device and is certified according to the European Safety Standards.

Trandy

Q. What is Trandy?
A. Trandy is a low impact exercise program that quickly, safely and with no effort tones muscles and increases bone density. Trandy utilizes a vibrating resistance machine combined with specific toning currents.

Q. Will I lose weight with Trandy?
A. Inches lost. You will burn lots of calories and strengthen your muscles while having fun. You will look and feel better quickly and safely.

Q. I never worked out before. Can I use Trandy?
A. Yes! Anyone at any fitness level can use Trandy. Trandy is safe because it can be adapted to the resistance of your body to match your level of comfort.

Q. Will I get sore muscles from Trandy?
A. No. Because Trandy machine uses passive electrical stimulation combined with adjustable body vibration. You will feel a very satisfied "fatigue" after a workout, but no soreness the next day.

Q. Will I get big muscles from Trandy?
A. No, for very much the same reason that you will not be sore; there is no negative or eccentric resistance with Trandy which is necessary for bodybuilding and developing bigger muscles. What you will notice are stronger, leaner, more toned muscles. The nice benefit of stronger muscles is an increase in your resting metabolism, which means you will be burning more calories during everyday activities.

Q. Will I lose weight from Trandy?
A. Yes and no. You will lose body fat faster than any other 20 minute workout. However, as you increase your muscle strength, you may gain a pound or two of muscle weight. Again, the major benefit will be inches lost.

Q. Is Trandy better than dieting?
A. Diets by themselves have proven over the long run to be unsuccessful in permanent weight control. Proper nutrition, combined with good exercise, is the best way to improve health and permanently change body composition. Trandy has proven to burn off fat and increase lean muscle mass more effectively than any other program.

Q. Is there research to back up the benefits of Trandy?
A. Lots.Trandy, combining vibration and muscle stimulation technology, is the result of……..the rest if the paragraph is fine.

Biocelase

Q. What is the difference between fat and cellulite?

A. Cellulite is formed as a result of poor circulation which leads to water retention. By this time, the areas involved which are mainly fatty tissue grown beyond the normal body profile are hard and painful. The skin in these region loses elasticity and presents a typical ‘orange peel’ texture.

Q. How does Biocelase work?
A. Biocelase performs integral treatments for the principal aesthetic body problems. Combining the mechanical effects of vacuum, micro-massage and heat produced by ultrasound plus lymphatic drainage, toning and cooling produced by laser are able to achieve an increase of blood circulation and cellular metabolism, normalisation of the fat cell network, a reduction in the appearance of stretch marks, collagen and elastin production and body contour reshaping.

Q. Is the treatment safe?
A. Biocelase technology is perfectly safe without adverse side effects and free from particularly unpleasant sensations.

Q. How long is each treatment with Biocelase?

A. Approximately one hour.

Q. How many treatments are required?

A. This depends very much on each individual. On average, between 15 treatments are needed.

Q. How soon will I see results?
A.
Usually clients notice changes within 4 to 5 sessions. However, 15 is the average number of treatments recommended for maximum results.

Q. How many Biocelase treatments can I have in one week?

A. Two treatment sessions per week are generally recommended to achieve lasting results.

Q. Are there similar machines or technology?

A. There have been vast improvements in computer technology over the past decade, both in the medical field for pain and healing management, and in the beauty and health field for cosmetic enhancement management. In the beauty field, cellulite creams, micro-current technology, vacuuming and suction plus massage therapy equipment are being used. Other slimming machines which use electric currents to stimulate muscles can tone muscle but cannot break down fat or cause weight loss. Biocelase uses vacusound technology to break down fat molecules stored in fat cells into smaller free fatty acids. In this form, fat can pass from the fat cell membrane into surrounding tissue. The free fatty acids then pass into the lymphatic system and are eventually excreted in the urine.

Q. Why do people choose this over cosmetic surgery such as liposuction?

A. This treatment is a natural, non-surgical alternative to cosmetic surgery. There is no pain, complications or recovery time. It is far less expensive and there is no interruption to daily life.

Q. Are there things I can do to increase the benefits of these treatments?

A. The best results from Biocelase are achieved when combined with exercise (low impact aerobics, brisk walking), rest, drinking plenty of water and a balanced diet. Overweight people should correct their eating habits to receive optimum benefits.
